Belief isn’t easy; we think it’s worth the effort of wrestling through tough questions and getting to hear how other people are working through the same issues. Whatever questions you might have about Christianity, we’d invite you to join us and let us walk through those with you.

What Is The Gospel?

The word 'gospel' means 'good news.'


The good news of the gospel is that Jesus came down from heaven to earth as a baby, lived a perfect (sinless) life, died on a cross on which he took on the punishment for sin for all mankind, and physically rose from the grave on the third day. When we place our faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross, we are promised the gift of salvation — namely, we are given new life and are saved from an eternity separated from God (i.e., hell).


We believe that being a Christian is much more than just “making a decision” or performing some religious act (going to church, getting baptized, etc.). We believe that Jesus came to give us life, and that a person’s true belief will result in a life that is transformed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 



Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” 


Ephesians 2:1-9

“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience — among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 


But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved — and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” 


John 3:16-17

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” 


Romans 10:9-10

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
